80 V, 20 A common-cathode Schottky pair in D²PAK
The STPS40M80CG-TR is a dual-Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, pairing two 80 V, 20 A diodes in a common-cathode configuration inside a single D²PAK (TO-263AB) surface-mount package. It is designed for high-frequency output rectification, freewheeling, and OR-ing stages in power supplies and DC-DC converters where fast recovery under 500 ns and low forward drop matter.
735 mV forward drop — conduction loss floor
At 20 A per diode, the maximum forward voltage is 735 mV. The 175°C Tj(max) rating gives more thermal headroom than the typical 150°C Schottky, useful when board space limits heatsink area.
Reverse leakage at 80 V: 65 µA
Leakage climbs with temperature — at elevated junction temperatures near 175°C it can dominate the off-state power budget, so the thermal design must account for the leakage doubling every 10–15°C above 100°C. This is a standard Schottky trade-off: low Vf costs higher leakage at high temperature.
The base product number STPS40 covers a family of 80 V common-cathode Schottkys; the M80 suffix identifies the 80 V, 20 A variant.
