Each diode is rated for 45 V reverse voltage and 20 A average rectified current, with a maximum forward voltage of 530 mV at 20 A — the conduction loss per diode at full load is about 10.6 W, which drives the heatsink requirement. The Fast Recovery rating (≤ 500 ns at > 200 mA) confirms this is a standard-speed Schottky, not an ultrafast or SiC device. It is suited for 50–100 kHz switch-mode power supplies, output rectification in ATX and telecom bricks, and freewheeling diodes in motor drives where the reverse voltage stays under 45 V.
Package and thermal planning
The TO-247-3 package (Supplier Device Package TO-247-3) is a through-hole, three-lead power package with a large copper tab for heatsink mounting. For a 20 A per diode load at 530 mV Vf, the total dissipation of both diodes can exceed 20 W — a forced-air or bolted heatsink is required to keep junction temperature within limits.
Reverse leakage at temperature
Reverse leakage is specified at 600 µA at 45 V. Schottky leakage doubles with every 10–15 °C rise above 25 °C, so at 125 °C junction the leakage can approach tens of milliamps, contributing to standby loss and potential thermal runaway if the heatsink is undersized.
