Rectifier for 60 V rails — what the ratings mean
The STPS3L60S is a 60 V, 3 A Schottky rectifier in a surface-mount package. The 60 V reverse voltage (Vr max) and 3 A average forward current (Io) define its safe operating area for DC rail rectification, freewheeling, and polarity protection in low-voltage power supplies. The fast recovery spec — ≤500 ns at >200 mA — makes it suitable for switching frequencies where a standard diode's reverse-recovery tail would cause excess loss or ringing.
At 3 A forward current the maximum forward voltage is 700 mV, and reverse leakage at 60 V is 55 µA.
