Automotive Schottky for high-temperature rectification
The STPS360AFY is an automotive-grade Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, rated for 60 V reverse voltage and 3 A average rectified current. Its AEC-Q101 qualification and 175°C maximum junction temperature make it a candidate for under-hood DC-DC converters, alternator rectification, and load-dump clamping in powertrain electronics.
Forward drop and conduction loss at rated load
The SOD128Flat package's thermal resistance must be factored into the PCB copper area to keep the junction below 175°C at that dissipation level.
Reverse leakage and thermal budget
Reverse leakage is specified at 150 µA at the full 60 V reverse rating. At elevated junction temperatures leakage current rises exponentially, so a design running near 175°C should account for the additional self-heating from leakage power.
Housed in a SOD-128 flat-lead package (SOD128Flat), this is a surface-mount device intended for reflow soldering. The low-profile body suits space-constrained automotive modules, but the small pad area demands a thermal via pattern and adequate copper pour for heat spreading.
