Fast recovery — why it matters in switching circuits
The fast recovery spec (≤ 500 ns above 200 mA) means the diode switches off quickly when the voltage reverses — reverse recovery charge is low, which reduces switching losses and ringing in a hard-switched converter. For a 30 A Schottky, the recovery time is inherently short because there is no minority-carrier storage; the ≤ 500 ns figure confirms it behaves as a majority-carrier device across the full current range.
