60 V, 30 A Schottky — what the ratings tell you
The STPS30M60SG-TR is a 60 V, 30 A Schottky rectifier in a D²PAK (TO-263) surface-mount package. The 60 V reverse voltage gives comfortable margin on a 24 V rail and enough headroom for a 48 V bus with derating. The 30 A average rectified current is the continuous rating — the junction sees that current at the tab temperature the PCB copper can hold. Forward drop is 590 mV typical at 30 A, which keeps conduction losses under 18 W at full load — the D²PAK tab on a decent copper pour handles that. The fast recovery spec (≤500 ns at >200 mA) means it switches cleanly in a 50–100 kHz PFC or output rectifier without the reverse-recovery snap of a standard diode.
The D²PAK (TO-263-3) has two leads plus the tab — the tab is the cathode and the main thermal path.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
