30 A, 60 V Schottky — what it handles and where it goes
The STPS30M60DJF-TR is a 30 A average rectified Schottky diode from STMicroelectronics, rated for 60 V DC reverse voltage. This is a fast-recovery Schottky — recovery time under 500 ns at currents above 200 mA — which puts it in the sweet spot for 100–200 kHz switching power supplies, OR-ing diodes in redundant 48 V telecom rectifiers, and output rectification in 24 V industrial bus converters. The 90 µA reverse leakage at 60 V is typical for a 30 A Schottky at this voltage class; expect leakage to rise with junction temperature, so the 150 °C max junction rating is the hard thermal ceiling.
PowerFlat 5x6 — footprint and thermal reality
The 8-PowerVDFN package, branded PowerFlat 5x6, measures 5 mm by 6 mm with a large exposed pad on the bottom. Without that copper area, the junction temperature at 30 A continuous will exceed the 150 °C limit. The part is surface-mount only. Reflow profile follows standard lead-free solder (260 °C peak). The package marking includes the base number STPS30 and a date code; orientation is unambiguous — the chamfered corner on the top marks pin 1.
STMicroelectronics lists the STPS30M60DJF-TR as Active.
