Product details

60 V, 2 A Schottky in a DO-41 can

The STPS2L60 is a 60 V, 2 A Schottky barrier rectifier from STMicroelectronics in the through-hole DO-41 axial package — the same can that has populated linear PSU secondaries and OR-ing diodes for decades. Forward voltage sits at 600 mV typical at the full 2 A rating, which keeps conduction losses manageable in a 5 V or 12 V rail without needing a heatsink.

The 60 V reverse voltage covers 48 V telecom rails and 24 V industrial supplies with margin — the 100 µA leakage at that voltage is the number to check if the board runs hot, because Schottky leakage doubles fast above 100 °C junction. Rated junction temperature tops out at 150 °C, so in a cramped PSU with poor airflow the diode still survives short overloads, but the leakage current will climb.

The DO-41 package is a standard axial lead form, easy to hand-replace on a repair bench and still widely used in point-of-load and secondary rectifier positions.

Frequently asked questions

Can STPS2L60 be used for reverse polarity protection?

Yes — a 2 A Schottky in the supply path drops only 600 mV at full load, which is acceptable for many 5 V and 12 V circuits. The DO-41 package makes it easy to retrofit into an existing holder or solder into a through-hole board.
