60 V, 20 A Schottky — the power rail rectifier choice
The STPS20M60SG-TR is a 60 V, 20 A Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, housed in a D²PAK (TO-263) surface-mount package.
565 mV forward drop — the conduction loss floor
At the rated 20 A forward current, the maximum forward voltage is 565 mV. This is the conduction loss per diode at full load — 11.3 W at 20 A — which sets the thermal budget.
125 µA reverse leakage — standby and high-temp margin
Reverse leakage at the full 60 V blocking voltage is 125 µA. This leakage doubles with every 10–15 °C rise in junction temperature; in a hot enclosure or high-ambient design, the leakage contribution to the thermal budget must be factored in. The Schottky barrier inherently trades lower Vf for higher leakage versus a fast-recovery pn diode — this part is optimised for the low-Vf side of that trade.
