Dual Schottky in a TO-220 — the 10 A per-diode workhorse
The 570 mV forward voltage drop at 10 A sets the conduction loss baseline for the pair. Packaged in a TO-220-3 through-hole case, it is a standard choice for high-current OR-ing, output rectification in switch-mode supplies, and freewheeling diode networks where the common-cathode pair shares a single heatsink tab.
Forward voltage and reverse leakage — the thermal budget drivers
At 10 A forward current the maximum forward voltage is 570 mV — the power dissipation per diode is roughly 5.7 W at full load, so the TO-220 tab must be heatsunk to keep junction temperature below the 175 °C absolute maximum. Reverse leakage is specified at 100 µA at 45 V, a figure that rises with temperature; the designer should derate the reverse voltage margin in high-ambient enclosures.
