Automotive-grade dual Schottky in D2PAK
The STPS2045CGY-TR is an automotive-grade Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, configured as a pair of common-cathode diodes in a single D2PAK surface-mount package.
AEC-Q101 qualification is the automotive industry's stress-test qualification for discrete semiconductors. For a procurement decision, that qualification is the difference between a part that can be specified into an ECU BOM without a separate qualification run and one that requires the OEM's PPAP approval cycle. The Automotive grade tag and the -GY suffix in the order code both signal this qualification level. The base product number STPS2045 also appears in non-automotive variants; verify the full code before committing the line.
10 A per diode, 570 mV Vf — the thermal budget
At 10 A per diode, each junction dissipates roughly 5.7 W at full load. In the D2PAK package, that heat has to move through the exposed tab into the PCB copper. The 100 µA reverse leakage at 45 V is typical for a 45 V Schottky at elevated temperature; expect it to rise with junction temperature, which matters for standby-power budgets in always-on automotive modules.
Sourcing and storage
Store the reels in a dry cabinet — the D2PAK package is MSL-rated, and moisture exposure before reflow can cause package cracking at the soldering temperatures used for automotive-grade assemblies.
