Low-forward-drop Schottky for 20 V rails
The STMicroelectronics STPS1L20M is a 20 V, 1 A Schottky rectifier in the DO-216AA STmite surface-mount package. Its key parametric for low-voltage power conversion is a maximum forward voltage of 430 mV at 1 A forward current — this conduction loss floor makes it a fit for OR-ing diodes, freewheeling clamps, and output rectification in 5 V and 3.3 V rails where every millivolt of drop eats into the output headroom.
At 1 A forward current the STPS1L20M drops 430 mV maximum. The reverse leakage at 20 V is 75 µA, which rises with temperature; above 100 °C junction the leakage contribution to the thermal budget needs to be checked against the load current.
For spares inventory and MRO stock, this means the reel can be ordered without an end-of-life deadline — store the reels dry (MSL level per the STmite package datasheet) and the parts will be available for the next scheduled maintenance cycle.
Package and footprint — DO-216AA STmite
The DO-216AA (STmite) is a small surface-mount package with the cathode tab on the bottom — the PCB land pattern must provide a thermal pad under the package to conduct heat into the board copper. No through-hole equivalent footprint exists, so a board respin is required if migrating from a leaded Schottky.
