Dual Schottky in a DPAK — 7.5 A per diode at 520 mV forward drop
45 V reverse voltage — leakage budget at temperature
Reverse leakage is 1 mA at 45 V, which at 150°C junction temperature rises significantly — the datasheet's typical curve shows leakage doubling every 10°C above 25°C. In a 100°C ambient, the leakage power per diode can exceed 100 mW, so the thermal pad on the DPAK tab needs a copper area sized for the sum of forward and leakage losses. The 150°C maximum junction temperature is standard for Schottky power diodes, but the thermal resistance from junction to ambient in the DPAK package is dominated by the PCB copper area under the tab — a 1-inch² pad drops RthJA to about 60°C/W, keeping the junction below 125°C at 7.5 A continuous per diode.
The base product number STPS15 covers a family of single and dual Schottkys in DPAK and other packages — if the common-cathode configuration is not required, a single-diode STPS15L45 in the same footprint is a drop-in alternative for half the current path.
