Schottky barrier for low-voltage rails
The STPS140A is a 40 V, 1 A Schottky rectifier in the DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package — a common choice for low-voltage DC rails where forward drop and switching speed matter. Its 550 mV maximum forward voltage at 1 A keeps conduction losses low in a 3.3 V or 5 V supply path, and the 12 µA reverse leakage at 40 V is typical for a Schottky of this voltage class.
