Dual Schottky in an isolated TO-220FP — what it saves on the assembly line
The STPS10L60CFP pairs two 60 V, 5 A Schottky diodes in a common-cathode configuration inside a TO-220FP full-pack package. Rated for a maximum junction temperature of 150 °C, the part suits power-supply secondary rectification, OR-ing diodes in redundant supplies, and freewheeling diodes in low-voltage DC-DC converters where the isolated tab simplifies thermal management.
550 mV forward drop at 5 A — the conduction-loss number
At 5 A forward current per diode, the maximum forward voltage is 550 mV. The TO-220FP package dissipates that through the tab to the heatsink — the isolated tab means no thermal interface pad is needed, so the thermal resistance stays lower than a non-isolated part with a pad. Reverse leakage is 220 µA at the rated 60 V reverse voltage. At elevated junction temperatures the leakage rises, but the 150 °C maximum junction rating gives headroom for the thermal design to keep leakage manageable in continuous operation.
