Active Schottky pair in TO-220
The STPS10H100CT is an active-production Schottky diode array from STMicroelectronics, configured as a 1-pair common cathode in a TO-220-3 through-hole package. The 175°C maximum junction temperature gives thermal headroom for high-ambient or forced-air designs, but the reverse leakage climbs to 3.5 µA at 100 V — expect that to double with every 10°C rise above 25°C junction.
What the speed rating means on the bench
The 500 ns ceiling is a classification label, not a switching limit; real reverse recovery time for a 100 V Schottky at 5 A is typically under 50 ns. For a 100 kHz PFC boost stage or a 200 kHz flyback secondary, the switching loss in this diode is dominated by the junction capacitance (Cj), not the recovery time — check the Cj vs VR curve in the datasheet for your operating point.
