Low Vf Schottky for 500 mA rails
The STPS0540Z is a 40 V, 500 mA Schottky barrier rectifier in a SOD-123 surface-mount package. Its forward voltage is specified at 500 mV maximum at the full 500 mA forward current — this is the conduction loss figure that sets the junction temperature rise in a low-voltage rail or OR-ing diode application.
Leakage and thermal budget
Reverse leakage is 40 µA at the 40 V rated reverse voltage. In a battery-powered design where the diode sits across a rail in reverse-blocking mode, that leakage current contributes to standby drain — and it rises exponentially with junction temperature. The maximum junction temperature is rated at 150°C, so the thermal design should keep the die well below that under worst-case conduction and ambient conditions.
Active production, no obsolescence watch
It is ROHS3 compliant.
