500 mA Schottky for low-voltage rails
The STPS0520Z is a 20 V, 500 mA Schottky rectifier in the SOD-123 surface-mount package. Reverse leakage is 150 µA at the 20 V maximum reverse voltage — typical for a low-Vf Schottky. In an always-on circuit where the diode blocks a backup supply, that leakage contributes to standby current; for a 100 mAh battery, it represents roughly 0.15 % per hour drain.
SOD-123 is a standard small-signal diode footprint, 2.6 mm × 1.6 mm body with gull-wing leads. The 0.50 mm pitch lands on a 1.6 mm PCB without micro-vias. Tape & Reel packaging (Cut Tape also available) suits automated pick-and-place at standard feeder pitches. Junction temperature is rated to 125 °C maximum. For a 500 mA load at 85 °C ambient, derate the forward current per the thermal resistance of the copper pad — a 15 mm² pad on a 2-layer board keeps the junction below 110 °C at full rated current.
