The STP40NF10: The TO-220-3 through-hole package mates with a standard heatsink clip or screw-mount tab for thermal management.

Gate charge is 62 nC at 10 V. Input capacitance is 2180 pF at 25 V. The gate-threshold voltage is specified at 4 V maximum with 250 µA drain current. A 10 V gate-drive rail is recommended to achieve the rated Rds(on); driving the gate below 10 V increases on-resistance and shifts the operating point into the linear region.

The 50 A continuous rating applies at a case temperature of 25 °C — at higher case temperatures the current must be derated to stay within the junction temperature limit.
