What this 8-bit MCU brings to a control board
The STMicroelectronics STM8S208RBT3 is an 8-bit MCU built around the STM8 core, running at 24 MHz. It carries 128 KB of Flash program memory, 6 KB of RAM, and 2 KB of EEPROM — enough for moderate control firmware with field-update capability. The 52 general-purpose I/O lines and a 16-channel 10-bit ADC give it the peripheral count for sensor aggregation and actuator drive in a single chip.
Supply voltage range is 2.95 V to 5.5 V.
On-chip CAN and LIN interfaces make the STM8S208RBT3 a natural choice for automotive body modules — door controllers, seat adjusters, or HVAC blower nodes. The I²C, SPI, and UART ports handle sensor bridges and display panels. Brown-out detection and a watchdog timer are built in, so an external supervisor IC is optional for most applications.
