The 24 MHz clock gives roughly 20 MIPS throughput, which handles most real-time tasks without a cache.
Supply range spans 2.95 V to 5.5 V, so the same BOM works on a 3.3 V regulated rail or a 5 V industrial bus. No external level shifters needed for 5 V peripheral logic. The internal oscillator (16 MHz typical) and brown-out reset are included, reducing external component count.

The 16-channel 10-bit ADC covers analog sensing without an external converter. On-chip peripherals include I²C, SPI, two UART/USART, LIN, and IrDA — enough for CAN-less designs (no CAN controller on this part).
