Core memory budget for the firmware engineer
The STMicroelectronics STM8S105C6T6 is an 8-bit MCU from the STM8S value line, built around the STM8 core and clocked at 16 MHz. The 2 KB RAM is the constraint for buffer-heavy applications like serial bridges; the 1 KB EEPROM, rated for the STM8S family endurance, handles parameter storage without wearing the Flash sectors.
The 10-channel 10-bit ADC handles basic analog monitoring like thermistor inputs or pot feedback. Brown-out detect, POR, PWM, and WDT are integrated, which reduces external supervisor and watchdog IC count on the BOM.
The 48-LQFP package with 38 available I/O gives enough headroom for a keypad matrix, a small character LCD, and a handful of discrete inputs and outputs without needing port expanders.
Supply range and power rail
The supply range covers 2.95 V to 5.5 V.
