16 MHz 8-bit MCU with integrated LCD and data converters
The STMicroelectronics STM8L162M8T6TR is an 8-bit microcontroller from the STM8L EnergyLite series, built around the STM8 core and clocked at 16 MHz. The part integrates a 28-channel 12-bit ADC and a dual 12-bit DAC, plus an LCD driver, making it suited for metering, sensor interfaces, and battery-operated control panels in industrial and consumer environments.
The 64 KB Flash program memory (64K x 8) is sufficient for mid-complexity control firmware, communication stacks, and application logic. The separate 2 KB EEPROM allows non-volatile storage of calibration constants, configuration parameters, or meter readings without wearing the Flash endurance budget.
80-pin LQFP — footprint and placement
Housed in an 80-LQFP package with a 14x14 mm body (Supplier Device Package 80-LQFP 14x14), this is a standard fine-pitch surface-mount package. The 68 I/O lines fan out to four sides, which simplifies PCB routing for designs that need a mix of digital, analog, and LCD segment signals.
