The 16 MHz clock rate provides throughput for periodic sensor reads and communication handling. The 2 KB RAM supports moderate data buffering.
32 KB Flash and 1 KB EEPROM — firmware and calibration storage
The 32 KB Flash is sufficient for moderate-sized firmware including bootloader, communication stacks, and application logic. The 1 KB EEPROM allows non-volatile storage of calibration coefficients, configuration parameters, or fault logs without an external serial EEPROM. This reduces board area and component count in space-constrained designs.
Peripherals and I/O — integrated features reduce external parts
On-chip peripherals include brown-out detect/reset, DMA, infrared encoder, power-on reset, PWM, and watchdog timer. These features reduce the need for external supervisor ICs, level shifters, or timing components. The 41 I/O lines in a 48-LQFP package provide ample connectivity for keypads, LEDs, relays, and sensor interfaces in a compact footprint.
