STM8L151C4T6 — 8-bit EnergyLite MCU with 16 MHz core, 16 KB Flash, 48-LQFP
The STM8L151C4T6 is an 8-bit microcontroller from STMicroelectronics' STM8L EnergyLite series, built around the STM8 core and clocked at 16 MHz.
The 16 MHz ceiling is the performance boundary for this 8-bit STM8 core. At this clock, single-cycle ALU operations and the DMA controller (listed among the peripherals) can service I²C, SPI, or UART/USART data streams without stalling the CPU on every byte. If your application needs bit-banged protocols or tight software loops above a few kilohertz, budget the instruction throughput accordingly — the 16 MHz STM8 is not a Cortex-M class performer, but it is deterministic and low-latency for its class.
The internal oscillator (no external crystal required in many cases) saves two pins and a few cents on the BOM.
