16 MHz core, 16 KB Flash — what the memory map buys you
The STM8AF6246TASSSX is an 8-bit MCU from ST's STM8A automotive-grade family, built around the STM8 core clocked at 16 MHz. The 25 I/O lines in a 32-LQFP package give you room for a 7-channel 10-bit ADC, plus I²C, LINbus, SPI, and UART connectivity.
That means it's still available for existing production runs, but the clock is ticking on last-time-buy windows. If you're qualifying a new BOM, this is not the part to commit to. The STM8A family has multiple density and package variants; a pin-compatible drop-in with more Flash or RAM would be the natural migration path. Check the STM8AF62xx or STM8AF52xx series for a like-for-like replacement with the same 32-LQFP footprint. For an existing design already using this MCU, the NRND status means you should secure a last-time-buy quantity for the remaining production run, or plan a firmware port to a newer STM8A or STM32G0 device before the supply dries up.
