Memory sizing and data converter
With 8 KB of Flash and 1 KB of RAM, the STM8AF6223PAU is sized for firmware that handles a few control loops, state machines, and diagnostic routines — not for large data-logging or complex RTOS tasks. The 640-byte EEPROM block stores calibration constants and fault codes that must survive power cycles. A 5-channel 10-bit ADC is included for reading analog sensors such as temperature, position, or current-sense resistors.

This means STMicroelectronics is phasing out the part; it remains available for existing production runs but is not intended for new projects. Buyers should secure last-time-buy quantities for active builds or evaluate a pin-compatible replacement within the STM8A family for future designs.
