It runs at 16 MHz from an internal oscillator, with 4 KB of program Flash, 1K x 8 RAM, and 640 x 8 EEPROM — enough for a LIN slave node, a window-lift controller, or a sensor-interface module that needs non-volatile parameter storage.
Peripherals and I/O for body-control tasks
Connectivity includes I²C, LINbus, SPI, and UART/USART — the LIN controller is the key interface for automotive body networks. The 16 available I/O lines in a 20-TSSOP package give enough pins for a few sensor inputs, a PWM-driven actuator, and a LIN transceiver enable. On-chip peripherals include a 5-channel 10-bit ADC, brown-out detect, power-on reset, PWM, and a watchdog timer.
ST has not published a formal last-time-buy date on this record, but the NRND flag means the part is in phase-out — new projects should target a pin-compatible replacement, and production BOMs need a last-buy or second-source plan.
