24 MHz 8-bit core with automotive-grade peripherals
The STMicroelectronics STM8AF52AATCY is an 8-bit microcontroller from the automotive-qualified STM8A series, built around the STM8A core running at 24 MHz.
CAN and LIN — the body-network interface set
The CAN and LIN controllers are the primary links for automotive body electronics — door modules, seat controllers, HVAC actuators, and lighting ECUs that communicate over the vehicle's multiplexed buses. The 68 general-purpose I/O lines, together with the 16-channel 10-bit ADC, cover sensor acquisition and actuator drive without external expanders.
ST has not published a formal last-time-buy date or a direct pin-compatible successor in the STM8A family. For existing production, the part remains available through independent distribution on a quoted-to-order basis. New designs should evaluate the current STM8A or STM32 automotive portfolio for a migration path.
80-LQFP — footprint and thermal notes
The exposed pad is not present on this package variant — all dissipation goes through the leads. For continuous operation near 125°C ambient with multiple peripherals active, verify junction temperature against the package thermal resistance.
