The STM8AF52A9TCX is an 8-bit MCU from STMicroelectronics' STM8A automotive line, qualified to AEC-Q100. The 64-LQFP package brings out 52 I/O lines, a 16-channel 10-bit ADC, and on-chip CAN, LIN, I²C, SPI, and UART interfaces.
At 24 MHz the STM8 pipeline delivers roughly 6 MIPS — enough for a body-control module polling a dozen digital inputs and driving PWM outputs for lighting or wiper motors. For time-critical CAN message handling, the 24 MHz clock keeps the bit-timing jitter within the CAN 2.0 tolerance window without a dedicated PLL.
