Core speed is 24 MHz with an 8-bit STM8A core, 64 KB of program Flash, 6 KB RAM, and 2 KB of EEPROM. The 68 I/O pins provide ample headroom for multiplexed switches, LED drivers, and sensor inputs typical in automotive body electronics.
A last-time-buy (LTB) window may be announced; procurement teams should check current lead times and consider securing a final order quantity for the remaining production run. For ongoing builds, the STM8AF528ATCX remains a valid BOM line — but any new design should evaluate the recommended successor within the STM8A family to avoid a future obsolescence-driven redesign. Sourcing through independent distribution is a practical channel for bridging the supply gap during the phase-out period.
Memory and peripheral fit for automotive control
The 64 KB Flash and 6 KB RAM are sized for a single AUTOSAR software component or a bootloader-plus-application split. The 2 KB EEPROM handles calibration parameters and fault codes without an external EEPROM. If your application requires larger data buffers or more complex floating-point processing, consider stepping up to a part with more RAM — but for LIN slave nodes, CAN message forwarding, or switch-debounce logic, this memory footprint is adequate. The CAN and LIN controllers are hardware-implemented, reducing CPU load for bus communication. The 10-bit ADC with 16 channels covers multiple analog sensors (temperature, position, voltage) without an external multiplexer.
