Peripheral set — what connects where
This MCU carries CANbus, I²C, IrDA, LINbus, MMC/SD, QSPI, SAI, SPI, SWPMI, and UART/USART interfaces. That QSPI is useful for memory expansion without chewing up I/O pins — you can hang a serial NOR Flash for code shadowing or data logging. The SAI (serial audio interface) makes it a candidate for audio processing or voice-trigger applications.
Package and footprint — 100-LQFP
The 100-LQFP (14x14 mm) is a common, hand-solderable footprint — no hot-air station needed for rework, which matters if you are swapping this on a bench or in the field. The supplier device package is 100-LQFP (14x14). Surface-mount only; no through-hole option. The 82 I/O give you room for a parallel LCD, external memory bus, or a sensor array without a port expander.
Lifecycle — still in active production
STMicroelectronics lists the STM32L471VET6TR as Active. No NRND or EOL notice on this base number.
