For production BOMs that need a second-source option, the STM32L151CBU6A (Cortex-M3, 32 MHz, 64-LQFP) shares the same package footprint and many peripherals, but the core speed and memory are lower — it is a functional alternative only if the application can tolerate the reduced performance.
