The STM32L431KCU6 is an STMicroelectronics ultra-low-power MCU built around an ARM Cortex-M4 core with FPU, clocked at 80 MHz.
256 KB Flash, 64 KB SRAM — sizing the firmware and data buffer
The 256 KB Flash is sufficient for a full sensor-fusion stack, a lightweight RTOS, and a Bluetooth or Sub-1 GHz protocol stack without external memory. The 64 KB SRAM gives room for multiple packet buffers and a modest heap for dynamic allocation. If your application needs larger lookup tables or OTA staging, the QSPI interface (listed among the connectivity options) lets you attach a serial NOR Flash without consuming the parallel bus.
Connectivity that covers fieldbus and audio
The peripheral set includes a CANbus controller for industrial fieldbus links, QSPI for high-speed serial memory expansion, and an SAI (Serial Audio Interface) for connecting digital microphones or audio codecs. The SWPMI interface supports smart-card or subscriber-identity-module communication. For general-purpose serial, you get I²C, SPI, and multiple UART/USARTs with IrDA support. The 26 GPIOs in the 32-UFQFN package are enough to manage a small sensor array plus a display interface.
