280 MHz Cortex-M7 with 2 MB Flash — memory and speed for industrial control
The STM32H7A3ZIT6: ARM Cortex-M7 core at 280 MHz with 2 MB Flash and 1.4 MB RAM in 144-LQFP.
Memory sizing — 2 MB Flash and 1.4 MB RAM on a single die
The 2 MB Flash (2M x 8) gives room for a full RTOS, a TCP/IP stack, and a file system without external storage. The 1.4 MB RAM (1.4M x 8) handles large data buffers for display framebuffers or sensor fusion pipelines — a tier above the typical 512 KB SRAM found on mid-range Cortex-M4 parts.
Connectivity and peripherals — industrial and IoT ready
The connectivity list covers CANbus for industrial networks, USB OTG for host/device modes, and EBI/EMI for parallel displays or external memory. The 20x16-bit ADC and 3x12-bit DAC handle analog sensing and control loops without external converters.
Package and rework — 144-LQFP with exposed pad
The 144-LQFP (20x20 mm) is a hand-rework-friendly package — the gull-wing leads are visible and inspectable.
It is not AEC-Q100 qualified, so skip it for safety-critical automotive under-hood applications unless you run your own qualification.
