This combination targets cost-sensitive, space-constrained control applications — sensor nodes, motor control feedback, simple HMI panels, and IoT edge endpoints — where the 64 MHz core handles protocol processing and control loops without needing a larger part.
Memory and I/O — sizing the BOM fit
For a typical sensor-to-UART bridge or a brushed-DC motor controller that boots from internal Flash and runs a state machine, this is adequate headroom. The 17 available I/O lines (out of the 20-pin package) leave enough for a few sensor inputs, a PWM output, and a serial debug port. If your application needs a larger code image or more data buffering, the STM32G0 series offers pin-compatible higher-density options — but for this package, the Flash and RAM are fixed.
It belongs on a factory-floor sensor board, an outdoor telecom module, or a commercial appliance — not under the hood of a car or inside a 125°C engine bay.
