216 MHz Cortex-M7 — the compute engine
The STM32F767IGT6 is an STMicroelectronics ARM Cortex-M7 MCU from the STM32F7 series, clocked at 216 MHz. That clock rate, combined with the single-cycle multiply-accumulate and double-precision FPU of the Cortex-M7, places it in the high-performance tier of the STM32 lineup — suitable for real-time control loops, audio processing, and GUI rendering where the M4 would run out of headroom. The 1 MB Flash and 512 KB RAM (organised as 512K x 8) give firmware and data buffers room for complex application code without external memory, though the EBI/EMI and QSPI interfaces are there if you need to expand.
Connectivity and peripherals — what it talks to
This part carries Ethernet MAC, dual CAN, USB OTG FS/HS, multiple SPI/I²C/UART, SAI for audio, SPDIF, and a parallel LCD interface. The 140 I/O in the 176-LQFP package give plenty of headroom for sensor arrays, keypads, and external bus peripherals.
