With 256K x 8 of SRAM, this part carries four times the RAM-to-Flash ratio of many STM32F4 parts. That matters if your design uses the camera interface, drives a display through the parallel EBI/EMI, or runs a TCP/IP stack with large packet buffers. The RAM is enough to hold a full VGA frame buffer at 16-bit colour, leaving headroom for the stack.
The 144-LQFP package is a mainstream footprint that ST has no reason to phase out soon. For buyers filling a BOM line, this part carries no forced-migration risk — the only sourcing concern is the usual lead-time variability on high-performance MCUs, which we quote per order.
Connectivity and I/O — CAN, USB, and 112 GPIOs
The peripheral list includes CANbus, USB (likely OTG FS/HS), QSPI, SAI, and a parallel EBI/EMI interface. With 112 I/Os brought out to the 144-LQFP, you can wire a full TFT-LCD data bus, an external SRAM/Flash bank, and still have pins left for a keypad and sensors.
