100 MHz Cortex-M4 with 1 MB Flash — what the specs mean for a BOM decision
The STM32F413CGU6: The 48-pin UFQFN package with exposed pad (7x7 mm) keeps the board footprint small, but the 36 available I/O mean you trade pin count for density — fine for sensor fusion or motor control where the peripherals fit, tight if you need a parallel bus and multiple serial ports simultaneously.
On the peripheral side you get CANbus, USB OTG, multiple I²C and SPI channels, plus QSPI for external Flash, SAI for audio, and an LCD parallel interface. The integrated 12-bit ADC (10 channels) and two 12-bit DACs cover analog feedback and signal generation without an external converter.
For a production BOM this is the straightforward case: qualify it in, and the supply channel is stable.
