It is a current-production device suitable for both prototyping and volume builds. The base product number STM32F411 covers a density range; the VET6 variant (512 KB Flash, 100-LQFP) is the mid-density option in that family, and the whole series is still in active development at ST.
Peripheral set and connectivity — what the 81 I/O actually connect to
On-chip peripherals include a 16-channel 12-bit ADC, DMA, I²S, PWM timers, and a brown-out detector. Connectivity covers I²C, SPI, USART, USB OTG, SDIO, and IrDA — enough to talk to a Wi-Fi module, an SD card, and a CAN transceiver through an external controller. The 81 I/O are laid out on a 100-LQFP (14x14 mm) with a 0.5 mm pitch, which is a hand-solderable package that a rework station can handle without X-ray inspection.
