Analog muscle: 22-channel ADC and dual DAC
For a motor-drive or power-converter design, that many ADC channels can sample phase currents, DC-link voltage, and temperature sensors on a single chip — no external mux or second ADC needed. The dual DAC handles setpoint generation or offset trimming without extra analog ICs, consolidating the BOM.
Connectivity and peripherals for mixed-signal control
The peripheral set includes CANbus, I²C, SPI, UART/USART, USB, and I²S for audio or serial data links. DMA, POR, PWM timers, and a watchdog timer are on-chip. With 51 GPIOs in the 64-LQFP, most designs have enough I/O for local sensors, HMI buttons, and status LEDs without a port expander.
Surface-mount assembly in the 64-LQFP is standard reflow; no special handling beyond MSL 3 bake requirements.
ST lists the STM32F303RET6 as Active (current production). The base product number is STM32F303, meaning pin-compatible density variants (different Flash/RAM sizes) exist in the same 64-LQFP footprint for scaling production without a board spin.
