72 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 with FPU — the DSP-ready MCU for motor control and industrial sensing
The core runs at 72 MHz with a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU), which offloads vector math and filter routines that an M3 core would handle in software. Program memory is 512 KB of Flash, backed by 64 KB of SRAM — enough for a field-oriented motor control stack plus a communication protocol layer.
Analog front-end and connectivity — 16-channel ADC, DAC, CANbus, USB
For system communication it carries CANbus, I²C, SPI, UART/USART, USB, and IrDA interfaces, plus an I²S audio bus. The 51 general-purpose I/O pins give enough headroom for a sensor array with a parallel LCD or keypad matrix.
For dual-sourcing or a pin-compatible drop-in with less Flash, the STM32F302R8 (64 KB Flash variant) shares the same footprint and peripheral set.
