72 MHz Cortex-M4 with DSP instructions — what it buys you
The STM32F302RBT6TR: The 16-channel 12-bit ADC and single 12-bit DAC let you digitize multiple analog inputs and output a control voltage directly, reducing the op-amp count on a mixed-signal board. Peripheral set includes CANbus, I2C, SPI, UART/USART, USB, I2S, and LINbus — enough to bridge fieldbus networks, talk to codecs, and handle human-machine interface panels. The 52 I/O lines in the 64-LQFP package give headroom for parallel displays or memory-mapped peripherals.
Internal oscillator means you can skip the external crystal for non-timing-critical applications, saving two passives and a PCB trace pair.
Listed as Active by STMicroelectronics.
64-LQFP (10x10 mm body) with 0.5 mm pitch — a common footprint shared across the STM32F302 density variants. Surface-mount only. Cut Tape is also available for prototype runs. No exposed thermal pad on this package, so junction-to-ambient thermal performance depends on copper area and airflow around the part.
