72 MHz Cortex-M4 with DSP and FPU — what it means for a control loop
The Cortex-M4 core includes a single-precision FPU and DSP instructions, so a sensor-fusion or motor-control loop that would stall an M3 on multiply-accumulate operations runs in fewer cycles. Program memory is 32 KB of Flash, with 16K x 8 of SRAM — enough for a moderate control stack and a few hundred bytes of sensor data, but tight if you are logging telemetry or running a full RTOS with multiple mailboxes.
