The 100-pin LQFP package brings out 80 general-purpose I/Os, and the on-chip data converters include a 16-channel 12-bit ADC and a dual 12-bit DAC for analog sensing or closed-loop control.
72 MHz core and peripheral fit for protocol handling
The 72 MHz ARM Cortex-M3 delivers enough throughput to run a lightweight TCP/IP stack, handle USB device/host negotiation, and manage a CANopen fieldbus simultaneously. The 256 KB Flash is sized to hold the connectivity middleware plus application code without external memory for most designs; the 64 KB SRAM supports multi-packet buffering for Ethernet and USB without thrashing. The 16-channel 12-bit ADC samples at sufficient rate for current sensing or temperature monitoring on motor-drive feedback paths, and the dual 12-bit DAC can generate analog setpoints or bias voltages directly.

It is ROHS3 compliant, and the 100-pin LQFP package is a standard, widely available footprint.
Package and PCB integration note
Housed in a 100-pin LQFP with 0.5 mm pitch, the STM32F107VCT6 requires a four-layer board for reliable decoupling of the 3.3 V supply rail and the internal PLLs if the Ethernet MAC is active. The 80 I/Os are 5 V-tolerant on most pins, simplifying level translation to legacy 5 V peripherals.
