This MCU includes DMA, a programmable voltage detector (PVD), power-on reset (POR), power-down reset (PDR), a temperature sensor, and a watchdog timer — all standard on the STM32F1 line. For communication it has I²C, IrDA, LINbus, SPI, and UART/USART interfaces, so it can talk to serial sensors, displays, or a host controller over a few wires. With 80 I/O pins in the 100-LQFP package, there is plenty of headroom for parallel buses or a large button/LED matrix.
