The STMicroelectronics STGW20V60DF is a 600 V, 40 A trench field-stop IGBT in a TO-247-3 through-hole package. It is designed for medium-frequency hard-switching applications such as motor drives, UPS inverters, welding machines, and PFC stages where low conduction and switching losses are both required. The trench field-stop structure delivers a tight Vce(sat) of 2.2 V at 15 V, 20 A and a switching energy of 200 µJ (on) and 130 µJ (off) under 400 V, 20 A, 15 V test conditions. The 40 A continuous collector rating and 80 A pulsed capability give headroom for transient overloads, while the 167 W maximum power dissipation guides heatsink sizing.
