The STMicroelectronics STGAP2SCMTR is a single-channel isolated gate driver built around magnetic coupling technology, delivering 1700 VDC galvanic isolation between the input logic and the output power stage. It is designed to drive IGBTs, SiC MOSFETs, and standard MOSFETs in half-bridge, full-bridge, and motor-drive topologies where a reinforced isolation barrier is required. The part provides 4 A peak source and sink current, which means it can charge and discharge the gate capacitance of large power switches fast enough to keep switching losses under control.
