800 V, 1 A N-channel MOSFET in TO-251 IPAK
It is housed in a through-hole TO-251 (IPAK) package with short leads, intended for low-power offline switch-mode power supplies, flyback converters, and auxiliary power stages where high-voltage blocking and moderate current handling are needed.
Key ratings and design fit
The 800 V Vdss rating provides ample margin for 240 VAC rectified rails (≈340 VDC) and flyback reflected voltages up to 700 V, making this part suitable for universal-input offline converters up to about 15 W. The 1 A continuous current at 25°C derates with case temperature; at 100°C the usable current drops to roughly 0.6 A, so the load budget must account for thermal derating in enclosed supplies. The 16 Ohm Rds(on) is relatively high by modern standards, but for low-duty-cycle flyback primaries the conduction loss is acceptable — the dominant loss is often switching, and the 7.7 nC gate charge helps keep drive power low.
