On-resistance and gate charge — the switching efficiency numbers
That is a moderate Rds(on) for a 250 V part in this package — it keeps conduction loss manageable in the 2–5 A operating range without needing a heatsink that overflows the board. Gate charge is 18 nC at 10 V, which means a standard gate-driver IC or a simple PWM output from a controller can switch it without excessive crossover loss. The input capacitance is 680 pF at 25 V drain-source, so the driver sees a light capacitive load — rise and fall times stay crisp even with a modest source resistor.
The DPAK has a metal tab on the top, so a clip-on or screw-on heatsink can be added if the design runs above a few watts continuous.
